The UNE (Union of Spanish University Publishers) is the association of publishers and publication services of Spanish universities and research centers. It was established in 1987.
The purposes of this organization, created for cultural and non-profit purposes, are the following:
- Promote the coordination of editorial tasks among associates, seeking their optimization.
- Promote and coordinate university publications in co-publishing between several centers.
- Stimulate the dissemination and promotion of the members' editorial collections.
- Collaborate with international, state, regional and local organizations in the dissemination and promotion of the editorial collections of the members.
- Actively participate, at an international level, in initiatives or associations that develop the previously stated objectives in a global environment.
- Carry out whatever actions are deemed appropriate to stimulate and support the editorial function of the associates and their relationship with the Administration. Specifically, you can create instrumental entities that are considered necessary, with their own legal personality, in their own or joint initiatives with other partners in the publishing sector, that allow reinforcing some or all of the key aspects of the editorial, commercial-promotional, logistics, material production function or others.
